Nuts and certain seeds may be able to reduce arthritis symptoms. Persons who consume nuts over 15 years have a 51% lower risk of dying from inflammatory-related diseases, including arthritis. Like fish, nuts contain healthy fats and acids that can lower inflammation. The best sources are walnuts, pine nuts, almonds, and pistachios. Seeds and nuts are high in calories. Keep the servings down to 1.5oz or a handful daily.
3. Fruits and veggies
Fruit and leafy vegetables are rich in antioxidants, perfect for fighting arthritis. Vegetables with a substantial amount of vitamin K reduce inflammatory markers in the blood. Furthermore, research has shown the anthocyanins in cherries or other red and purple fruits are also anti-inflammatory. Citrus fruits rich in vitamin C help maintain joint health. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables works well alongside any doctor-recommended treatment.
4. It’s time to get active
Excess weight can put pressure on the joints, which in turn increases the severity of arthritis symptoms. Reducing stress on the joints can improve overall mobility, decrease pain, and prevent extensive damage. Low-impact workouts can help arthritis and aid in weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight. Typical low-impact exercises include walking, cycling, or swimming. 5. Try some therapy treatments
Using physical treatment on stiff or sore joints can decrease pain. For instance, massages are a helpful form of therapy used to manage joint pain, precisely arthritis discomfort. Using hot and cold treatment can also reduce stiffness and swelling. Heat therapy includes using electric blankets or heating pads at night. Cold treatments can also relieve pain and reduce joint swelling and inflammation. Treatments include gel ice, frozen veggies, or using a cold towel. These treatments are perfect for immediate relief.
